If you are at this stage of life, I want you to know that I’m right there with you. Around 45 years old, I started noticing some pretty concerning changes. I suddenly had this insatiable hunger. Where I used to be satiated and doing well at 1,800 or so calories wasn’t cutting it anymore. I was just getting hungrier and hungrier, and some days wouldn’t even feel full at 2,500 calories.😳 And then came the weight gain (partially due to the excess calories of course, but also, I’ve since learned, were caused by my changing hormones).

Why Dropping the Weight Feels Impossible

Cellulite became noticeable on my legs, which was something I had never experienced before. The extra fat that was now on my thighs, butt and midsection made me feel like I had an extra layer of fluff on me that I just could not get rid of. To say it was frustrating would be an understatement.

And then came the cascade of other symptoms. Trouble sleeping, forgetfulness, and rising blood sugar topped the list. As a top-performer my entire career, these changes threw me for a loop. I needed to turn this around before the train really got off the tracks. (Spoiler alert: I did, and you can, too!)
